At ISC West 2026, PSIA will present a live, end-to-end demonstration of Public Key Open Credential (PKOC).

Over the past year, we have been actively enhancing the PKOC specification, including the addition of enrollment services for PKOC. This demo will show how PKOC works in practice, including credential issuance, mass enrollment, and the core of interoperability based on an open specification. Some of the highlights of the demo include:

  • Live PKOC enrollment, including e-mail invitations and secure provisioning
  • Interoperability across different readers, credentials, and PACS platforms
  • Open, API-driven integration showing how vendors can support enrollment and credential lifecycle management without custom one-off solutions
  • A standards-based security model built on public-key validation and forward-security principles

PKOC is real, deployable, and ready for practical adoption. Enrollment remains one of the most common questions we hear from customers, integrators, and manufacturers, and this demonstration directly addresses that need from small to enterprise.

More details to follow. If you are attending ISC West and want to see PKOC working live, please “Save the Date”. March 26, 2026  5:30PM-7PM

The Power of Open: Why PKOC is Changing the Economics of Access Control

The Public Key Open Credential (PKOC) specification continues to gain momentum as a transformative force in the credential market. PKOC is not only among the most secure credential technologies available — it’s also fully open and license-free. This combination changes the financial equation for access control, freeing end users and integrators from the high recurring costs and vendor restrictions that have long defined the industry.  By removing licensing costs and providing a standard anyone can implement, PKOC shifts value back to customers, where it belongs.

Latest Developments:

  • The latest release, PKOC 3.0, with added features.
  • A growing number of readers, cards, and mobile-credential apps from leading vendors are actively implementing PKOC, marking commercial readiness and broad ecosystem support.
  • Interoperability testing and certification of readers, cards, and apps.
