LAS VEGAS – March 24, 2010 – The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (www.psialliance.org), a global consortium of physical security thought-leaders focused on promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled devices, is pleased to welcome 3VR as its newest associate member.
“Interoperability is a central issue for the security industry,” said Al Shipp, CEO, 3VR. “At 3VR we believe the development of standards is critical to the future of our industry. We are excited to have the opportunity to contribute our expertise to the PSIA as they continue to drive this important initiative.”
As a leader in intelligent surveillance and search, 3VR has joined PSIA to promote the importance of standards within the physical security industry. By supporting standards and integrating PSIA specifications into the company’s product line, 3VR enables its end customers to specify best-in-class solutions without the need for custom software integration. This, in turn, reduces the complexity of installations for integrators and installers, and reduces research and development costs for manufacturers.
3VR joins more than 50 member companies that work in conjunction to promote the interoperability of IP-enabled security devices across every sector of the industry, including video surveillance, access control, video analytics and recording devices.
“As a company committed to interoperability, 3VR is a welcome addition to our alliance,” said David Bunzel, Executive Director, PSIA. “3VR’s support will further propel our mission of developing specifications that enable IP technologies to communicate in a consistent, secure and efficient manner.”
The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance is a global consortium of physical security manufacturers and integrators focused on promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled security devices across every segment of the industry. PSIA supports license-free standards and specifications, which are vetted in an open and collaborative manner to the industry as a whole. Specifications are developed through member and industry participation in five active working groups: IP Video, Video Analytics, Recording and Content Management, Area Control and Systems. To date, more than 1,200 industry professionals have downloaded PSIA’s specifications.
